Cantor Rebekah Mirsky is a 2010 ordinee of the Academy of Jewish Religion. She is the founding Cantor of Beit T’shuvah, a residential treatment facility and synagogue, for 8 years, where she helped to create a Music In Recovery program. Cantor Rebekah also served as a spiritual advisor, using Mussar and other Jewish traditions to counsel those in need.
Cantor Rebekah’s special loves are B’nai Mitvah tutoring and officiating ceremonies. She has done many b’nai mitzvah, encouraging the student’s individual and unique gifts to shine through the ceremony where an emphasis is placed on inspiring a love of Judaism in each child. She is an interpreter of Jewish Liturgy, an active composer and a fellow of the Helfman Institute for New Jewish Music. Her compositions are beautiful, contemporary commentaries that enliven the ancient beauty of the liturgy.

Today prayer seems like something that can be far out of reach. My goal is to put it in people’s hands so that it touches every aspects of their lives. When we incorporate our individual and respective experiences into the Jewish tradition, it becomes personal and it becomes meaningful. When I tutor your child for his or her bar or bat mitvah I will be helping them to begin learning about who they are and what their beliefs entail. It might be the first time in your child’s life where he or she has the freedom and the encouragement to explore aspects of his or her soul and personality that will inform the rest of their lives.
I want Judaism to be fun, meaningful and rewarding. When I do a wedding ceremony, I will want to know about who you are as a couple so that we can create rituals that express the sacredness of your union.
For several years now Cantor Rebekah Mirsky has been one of our community's cantors for our High Holy Days, numerous B'nai Mitzvah and other holidays and festivals. Her original composition prayer/songs speak directly to our hearts and the texts of our lives. We are so blessed and grateful to have her as an integral part of our clergy team.

What a blessing she is to the Jewish world and beyond. I love singing along with her gorgeous voice-in my key-! and you will too.
Cantor Rebekah's music lifts the soul and delights the heart! She uses text, poetry, and melody together to create prayers and blessings that are accessible and deeply meaningful.
We have done countless services together, and I am always moved by her ability to create both solo pieces that are a joy to listen to and communal pieces that are a joy to sing along with.

Rebekah is as natural and authentic songwriter as there can be. She can blend an idea or prayer with a riff so seamlessly that it seems like it was always like that. That's why it sticks with you've been singing Rebekah Mirsky songs for years – her words and melodies have become a healing and joyful part of my life.
